Finding time to read while travelling

A book can give a journey a second rhythm. Read a few pages between walks rather than feeling obliged to finish a whole volume. Choose a comfortable public place and respect any quiet rules or admission requirements.

Write down a sentence about the connection between the reading and the place, without forcing them to match. Keep quotations brief and attribute them if you share the note. Sometimes the value of the pause is simply rest. A trip does not need to produce a lesson in every spare minute.

Notebook exercise

Take ten minutes to record one detail from your own day. Include the date and setting, then leave the page open for a later observation. Keep any private information out of a version you share.
